Some top tips for using social media

  • Be authentic – don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. If your Director doesn’t have time to blog or keep up a public Facebook page, don’t pretend to be them! Have a company one and invite them to post occasionally.
  • Add value to any network you join – contribute, give users something extra.
  • Show an ongoing commitment – setting up a Twitter account and never updating it can have a negative impact on your business, you’re inviting people to connect with you but you’re offering them nothing. Keep it going!
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment!
